My Name's Andy, I'm an 18 y/o Journalism student at the University of Central Lancashire. Before joining Starbucks Coffee UK, I was an enthusiastic customer with a strong passion for the business starbucks conducted. Close friends had worked for starbucks for two years previous, and I was delighted to secure a job with starbucks only three months ago! Since starting I have met a diverse and beautiful team who are all dedicated to our customers, delivering legendary service every day. I am currently in training to be a qualified Barista (thats what we call our staff btw...not Barrister as in Lawyer.. just to prevent confusion!), and hope to do my supervisor training afterwards.
A few words for people who wonder what it's like to work for Starbucks!...It's amazing, the best job I've ever had. I have come from a catering industry background, with a father who was a catering manager and having worked in the on-the-go food service sector, motorways specifically previous. I am constantly enspired by our customers and my colleages at starbucks, there truely is a magic and charm in every store, and every partner I meet is fresh, enthusiastic, and dedicated to developing our customers. We have many regulars in Preston, and being in a Borders store makes great interaction with our partners in Borders, Game and Paperchase. There is really no other company to work for like Starbucks, but if your thinking of applying.. a good knowledge of customer service and the enthusiasm to grow will see you a long way!
Outside work I enjoy musical theatre, travelling, my Journalism. I have also done alot of volunteering with the scout movement in the UK. In the future I'd love to work for Starbucks overseas, progress within the company, possibly combining with the skills from my Journalism degree.
