About me

As I thought through this section, it really made me reflect on the things I truly enjoy. In the reflection I felt a warm comfort in the things that I enjoy and things that inspire me. Because it's no longer baseball season, I was reminded how much I enjoy sitting next to my wife, Gena, while watching my son, Mitchell, play baseball. I love the games where he is on the pitcher's mound, full of pride and confidence, his pants pulled up to his knees (he only does this when he is pitching), a smile on his face and he throws that ball straight down the middle for a strike. I love it when he gets his first strikeout of the game and he looks over at me and holds up his hand with his pointing finger raised to show "that's one". Most people think that it means that he has one strike out, but I know that it means that he just got one baseball card for the night because he gets a baseball card for every strike out. I love hearing my wife become passionate about a call or a hit and hearing her yell "RUN". In reflecting on what community means to me, I feel my heart become very tender. I think of the look someone gives when they receive. The awe inspiring feeling of satisfaction you receive from helping someone and the impact it makes on their day or even their life. To help someone who maybe can't help them self or to just let someone know that they are not alone. These are the things that touch my soul.
