Description

Starbucks will partner with the following organization in New Orleans during our 2008 Leadership Conference. Although activities planned with this organization are for the participants of this year’s Leadership Conference only, we encourage partners to learn more about their mission.

The Beacon of Hope Resource Center is a grassroots organization working to rebuild neighborhoods.  Their mission is to assist New Orleans homeowners in the rebuilding process of their homes and provide a sanctuary to neighbors looking for a way back home.  The Beacon of Hope began working in the Lakeview neighborhood in 2006, and has since expanded into Gentilly and the Lower 9th Ward, as well as now Iowa.  The Beacon of Hope has led thousands of local and national volunteers to begin the massive clean-up, provide guidance, and create a hospitable environment that encourages homeowners to return to this unique American city.
