donate http://www.v2v.net/actions/donate/conversation/rss Provide Clean Water to Children en-US http://backend.userland.com/rss 60 Rebecca Field says: http://www.v2v.net/actions/donate/conversation/rss#conversation9980 Tue, 13 Jan 2009 14:49:50 -0800 9980@http://www.v2v.net/actions It is fantastic to see how many of us are interested in the cause of providing clean water to children.  Now seems the perfect time in our company and in our country to challenge ALL of US to put our interest into action.  I propose the WE take action to provide children in Ethiopia (the birthplace of coffee) clean drinking water via A Child’s Right.   By collectively using our creativity, talents and Starbucks’s generous matching funds program, I think we can easily raise the $4000 needed to sponsor a site in our name.  Remember: Starbucks provides a $10 per hour donation for the hours you volunteer (even when volunteering at another non-profit organization).  You just need to submit an Individual or Team (3+ partner) Make-Your-Mark grant request.    So log your hours volunteering at the non-profit of your choice, and/or create a V2V action involving your community, customers and at least 3 Starbucks partners to volunteer to clean up at a park or help at a local food bank.  When requesting the Make-Your-Mark grant be sure to designate the grant to A Child’s Right. Feel free to contact me or reach out to the group on this site for support and ideas!   Together, I know that we can make this world a better place, starting with “one cup at a time” of clean, safe water.
