Richard Brodsky OOPS, I posted the wrong website for the World AIDS Marathon in Kisumu, Kenya. The webdite is www.worldaidsmarathon.com. I get a little careless sometimes as I'm HIV+ for 12 years, a brain camcer survivor for 7 years and a marathon runner for life. That's my wife Jodi in the picture. She is HIV-negativs. We have the best time when we go to Africa. We have fed 1,200 orphans at variuos dinner dances that my Foundation sponsors

@Anali  There is a project that a store manager in my district has been very involed with, it's called the Selemta Family project.  We've done some great things to help support them as a district.  There is a current action item (click here) for the group.  The really cool thing about the project though is that it creates families, so there is peremant placement of children, really focusing on creating a community.  There are amny ways you can support the project including child sponsership.

Anali Orr Does anyone here sponsor a child?  It's something I want to do but I'm not sure which organization to go with.  Any thoughts?

Lisa Perrell I had an older gentleman approach me yesterday to ask if he could have his photo taken with the (RED) logo for our community board. We never know how far we are reaching!!!

Will Zadorozny I recently discovered the package of (RED) promotioinal cards for complimentary RED beverages in the backroom buried under merchandise.  I took the opportunity to not only connect with regulars whose names I didn't know; but once I learned their names, I wrote on "Thanks ___" on the vocher part and said, you can use this, and let them know for all our (RED) products, we donate 5cents to HIV and AIDs programs in Africa.  I said come back and join one on us, or pass the cheer to a friend, coworker, or in some cases, one regular, treat their kid.

Great opportunity to get the word out and connect with regulars we're not as formal with (like knowing who they are).

William Siegel I am blessed to be president of a local group that is part of a worldwide charity and it is such a great feeling to do good every day. We "twin" (share our resources) with a group in Nigeria that helps feed, clothe, and provide housing for those in need there. Since my retirement 4 years ago I have been able to devote my full time to helping others and I can tell you it is the greatest feeling in the world. Our motto is "no form of charity is foreign to our society" and we live it daily and it is very contagious. I am also grateful for this forum where I can share ideas and learn from others here. I don't post a lot but I am a voracious reader of posts.

Damian Zannini I would hope I am able to do this task. I am an Eagle Scout, and the scout slogan is simply "Do a good turn daily." I am often left to wish this was basic human nature, and not something we have to take note of to do.
